Children who are abused are often filled with loneliness, fear, pain and darkness. The Children’s Advocacy Center of Catawba County and a strong network of community partners work to create a refuge from that darkness. The Children’s Advocacy Center is a child-focused and family-friendly place for victims and their non-offending family members. Here they begin the healing process.

The CAC wants to assure victims and their family that they are not alone. To minimize the trauma an abused child can suffer, the CAC is designed to enhance the coordination between agencies and professionals involved in the process. The CAC offers a child-focused place where children can be interviewed jointly by professionals during an investigation. The CAC strives to stop the cycle of child abuse and neglect. It works to increase public awareness of the issues surrounding the trauma that results in the life of the abused child, the family and the community.

We are always interested in educating the community about what we do. If you would like someone to speak to your group or organization, please give us a call and we would be happy to arrange a presentation.
